The Hawks Hall of Fame
| Name | Short
History |
Lord
bud | Along with The Drake and Kosciuszko, bud was the 3rd official member of the Hawks club, and contributed what is likely the second official Hawks map ever…Barbary Raiders, for “Cossacks AOW”. This classic fictional map, bud claimed, was inspired by Sophia Lorene herself and the movie El Cid, though of course it is of a later period. Bud went on to create one of the longest lasting map favorites in Hawks history…Blenheim, also in “AOW”. Bud continued map making into the Hawks’ AC and AC/FB periods. He served on the Council and was even recruited to help develop AC/DN (his name, Ian Johnson, appears on the credits). It was at this time that bud disappeared from view, moving on to take care of family and other matters. As a founding member of the Hawks, his legacy shall be ever present, as long as the club exists. | Lord
Duke of Marlborough | Without question the most feared
opponent on the field, this founding Hawks member built a reputation for uncanny
ability on the field of battle. An avid and early player of AOW maps, The Duke
(formerly the DarkLord) won the first AOW championship in a titanic struggle with Greenwarrior. Having served on the Council and reaching the zenith of battlefield
reputation in the heyday of AC/FB, The Duke disappeared as EW mod was beginning to transform Hawks history. | Lord Greenwarrior
| One of the first Cossacks AOW players to join the Hawks once it was founded, Greenwarrior brought many members into the club and
established the reputation of a daring if not brash player. He was later to enter
a friendly arch-nemesis relationship with Duke of Marlborough which entertaigned
all observors. A member of the Council and skilled map maker Greenwarrior's roots
in the Hawks ran as deep and strong. | | Lord Jark |
An early member of the Hawks, and compatriot of Kosciuzko (both hailing from the
Polish RP Clan) Jark was hailed by The Duke as his equal in strategy, and they
often teamed together in battles and Championships. He joined in the days of AOW,
and Jark (AKA Lord Eugene) crafted the AOW map classic Boyne, served on the Council
and even travelled to England in the first Hawks gathering in 2004. |
| Lord Meik | Winner of the first Map Making
Competition, Meik was a Master Map Maker contributing to our AOW, AC and FB collections
(Fredericia for AOW being a classic). A worthy general and competitor in Hawks
Championships Meik also served on the Council of Seven.
Lord Theosis | Having joined in the days of AOW, Theosis was
elevated to Hawks Leader status by a vote of the Council in October '04 and led
the group until his retirment in June '05. A Leader of conviction and a tenacious
but amiable general, Theosis has forever written his legacy into the character
of the Hawks club. | | Lord Bhive | Founding
member, joined early 2002, retired 8/2004, played AOW exclusively, was vocal
advocate of the [HWK] banner being optional as opposed to mandatory and was long
time member of the Council of Seven | | Gandalf |
Known for his hilarious rancor and ability to always get in the last word, Gandalf
served an intense term of 1 year before moving on. His return has always been
the subject of hope and speculation. | | Lord Claudius |
Founding Member and a prolific Master Map Maker for AOW and later AC/FB, known
un-officially as the club historian for his knowledge of military minutiae. Served
on the Council of Seven and contributed heavily to early growth of the Hawks group. |
| Elv | Map maker in AOW Elv also created
one of the first AC battles, Brandywine, for the Hawks collection. Later named
MTW Chancellor. | | Shifty | Map
maker for AC, joined in latter end of AOW reign in Hawks group and took fields
during the ascendancy of American Conquest. | | Duke
D | Active during the AOW period of the Hawks club, Duke D
also made maps for it and joined in Championship battles.
Franco | Founding Member, Franco took the fields with Kosciuszko
and The Drake in 2002 on the Classic AOW Maps (found on the Site). Was active
in the early days of Hawks group. | Lord Kosciuszko
|
Co-founder of the Hawks, this venerable member revealed the world of multi-player
maps to The Drake, taking the field with him on the few that already existed (now
immortalized on the AOW “Classic Map Page”). Kosciuszko went on to create the
first official Hawks map (Austerlitz for AOW) once the group was formed, having
already tested his hand at map making. He went on to become, along with bud, the
prominent map maker for the Hawks AOW era, crafting many masterpieces such as
his pike-and-shot era Lutzen, Brietenfield and Nordlingen. Present for many innovations
such as “Proxy maps”, map signatures and battle rules, Kosciuszko was a seminal
figure in the formation of the Hawks group. Kosciuszko now is heavily involved
in modding other games and exploring his own creative talents, wherever they may
lead him. | The Countess |
An early member, and prominent map maker in the days of AOW, The Countess was
known as a fierce opponent on the field, and staunch club proponent to the outside
world. She served on the Council of Seven, created maps for AOW, contributed to
club historical discussion and added her own, unique military art-work to the
Hawks web site. The Countess, heavily involved in business studies, is also a
political activist in her native Sweden.
