The Map Rules

The desperation of the
historical battle is replicated here by an overwhelming force of 6,000
Austrians (green) attacking Polish/Bavarian defenders numbering only some 3,500
(blue). Yet there are many factors that clever defenders can exploit. First,
the map rules dictate that the Austrians must take three of the four Map
Objectives within 45 minutes game time in order to win (seen circled yellow).
Map Objective flags will turn your color when you control the immediate area.
This 45 minute time limit gives the defenders a goal. Secondly, the defenders
are able to build a certain number of explosive charges that can make crossing
the few river fords very hazardous. Lastly, several Austrian columns are on
timed delay (written on map, seen boxed red) meaning the defenders will not
feel the full force of the Austrian attack right away. However, if the Austrian
players gain three of the four Map Objectives within 45 minutes, the blue
players must immediately surrender. There are no up-grades or building
allowed. If 45 minutes lapses before
three flags are gained, the Austrian players must immediately surrender
(withdraw). Follow the rules to make the game realistic and fun.
